Hibernating Queens Wasps in Log Pile – Wasp Nest Removal

Advanced Wasp Nest Removal often receive calls from clients finding “Large Wasps Sleeping” I’m log piles, stacks of bricks or tiles etc in the garden.

These large wasps are Queen wasps in hibernation, they will have been sheltering there all winter and will remain there until mid to late spring when the weather warms up.

Queen wasps can still sting so care should be taken when handling these type of things in the garden.

If you do happen to uncover some hibernating Queen wasps, there isn’t any treatment required. You can just carefully relocate them to another similar place.
