How to stop pigeons nesting under solar panels?
The only way to achieve this is by proofing the gap between the roof tiles and the solar panels. This is a tricky job and shouldn’t be attempted by anyone who doesn’t know what they are doing!
There are many different types of proofing kits and materials available, from plastic strips, bird spikes and wire mesh.
Some require gluing or screwed to the solar panels which will almost certainly void any warranty you have, can damage the solar panels or even fall off!
We use a specialist clip system which actually clips securely to the frame around the solar panels, the clips are made from strong UV stabilised plastic and can easily be removed for the solar panels to be serviced.
We used either 25mm x 25mm galvanised or stainless steel wire depending on the clients preference.
